"Dear IFMSA
Medical Students

It is with immense pleasure as the patron of the 69th IFMSA March Meeting 2020 that I add my welcome to you to Rwanda.

It is particularly exciting for me, in the thirtieth year since I graduated in medicine, to witness students of today doing what we dreamt of doing so many years ago - of meeting together to make a difference. I am privileged to see my own students in the University of Rwanda doing extraordinary things to make a difference to the lives of citizens, and look forward to sharing more of this with you when we meet in 2020.

I hope that you can plan to see something of the beautiful country of Rwanda when you are here."
